A final drink to single life before the bride becomes a wife!

After all the drama and struggles of planning my wedding, there was only one thing left to do: relax and enjoy my bachelorette party, which took place on May 14-15, 2011 at The Belfry . I had no clue whatsoever what my ''hen" night (as they call it around here) was going to be like, or where it would be. All I knew was the date, the time and who was going. I also knew that Sam would be having his bachelor party weekend aka ''stag" night in Cardiff the same weekend.

Days before the hen weekend, my amazing parents arrived in England for the wedding! My parents came on the 13th, alone, so that they could meet Sam's family and get over their jet lag in time for the big day. I knew our families would get on but I was still nervous. I kept thinking it would be like Meet the Fockers, but luckily it wasn't, it was great!

The greatest thing about it all was that my bridesmaid, Cat, kept quiet about the hen weekend. On the morning she picked me up for the party I was surprised to see my mom in the car. Cat spoke to my mom months before when she booked the weekend and invited my mom to come because she knew she would be here and she knew I would love that. It was a great surprise!! The next surprise came when I arrived at the Belfry and found out it was a hotel/ spa. It is a beautiful place with friendly staff, an awesome spa, excellent food, and a fun on-site nightclub!

After we checked in we all went to our spa treatments. I had a foot massage and it was absolutely fantastic! After that we settled into our rooms and then we went downstairs to the pool/hot tub and sauna. We stayed in there for a few hours and then we went upstairs and got ready for the evening. Before we went downstairs we all met in another room (because it was 2 girls to a room) to have pre-drinks.

Dinner was an all you-can-eat delicious buffet! After dinner we walked on down to the night club. It was quite packed, and there was a few other hen nights going on also. It was a fun night! Some of the girls went upstairs to bed earlier, but me, Cat, and Tash stayed up late. In the morning we had a continental breakfast that was yummy, and then we set off home.

I really liked the club's interior..

My weekend was memorable. I don't know why they call it the last weekend of fun, everything I do with Sam is fun and I love being married!

Sam had a good bachelor party weekend, from what he told me anyways!

My brother and other family members from the US would come on the 18th. We needed two cars to do the airport run, so along with Sam, his brother drove. I was so happy to see everyone who came over for the wedding. My dad's two cousins actually went to France first before coming to England, but they weren't alone! My Uncle Bob was with them too, and I had no idea he was coming for the wedding. Months prior he said he couldn't make it, so to see that he actually came was one of the best wedding presents.
The next few days we went sight-seeing, and we just relaxed at the cottage.

On the day before the wedding some of the girls helped me decorate the reception room. On the evening of the 19th a bunch of the girls and I went up town for a meal and some drinks. Then, it was an early night in because I needed my beauty rest! Sam on the other hand was up town drinking with my brother and the lads for hours. I slept at the cottage because I didn't want to see Sam before the wedding.

The 20th rolled around very quickly..
